How Trekke® Lumbar Lift Works

The common low back pain generator is one or more impinged nerves. The impingement can be caused by a number of things; bulging disc(s), bone etc, etc, and these typically result from degenerated discs.

Disc degeneration is a natural phenomenon of aging but can be aggravated by injury and other medical maladies. That said, the typical end result is that the height of the discs diminishes and some discs may bulge out or even hemorrhage and in extreme cases vertebrae may become misaligned.

With exception to injury or specific maladies, the main cause of disc degeneration is gravitational loading over time. From the moment we get up each morning we add the weight of our upper torso onto our spinal column, with the heaviest loading taking place in the lumbar region. Removing or reducing this loading can un-impinge the nerves and relieve the pain (reference “Muscles, spinal compression and low back pain”).

Trekke Lumbar Lift works by providing that pain relieving unloading and is the only device in the marketplace that was designed specifically as a full time treatment for many causes of low back pain, including the 85% that is undiagnosable.

The Science Behind Trekke®

Through injury, aging, degenerative disc disease and general gravitational loading, over 80% of humanity experience low back pain at some time in their lives.1 Since the lumbar region of the spine carries all upper body weight, it experiences the highest levels of gravitational loading and is the most at risk. This constant weight-bearing combined with daily and work-related stressors very often lead to low back pain.

Trekke is worn around the waist and, as it’s inflated, it stretches vertically, lifting and “unloading” upper torso weight from the lumbar vertebrae and disks, reducing or alleviating compression and pain in the lower back. Why Trekke Works

What is Spinal Unloading

Through injury and aging over 80% of people experience low back pain at some time through their lives.12 According to The Bone and Joint Decade, this qualifies as an epidemic.

From the minute we are first upright, gravity plays a role in the daily and long term degeneration of our spines by “loading” them with upper torso weight (our shoulders and head). The continuous daily degeneration cycle gradually dehydrates, compresses and compromises the discs of the spine, while many of our daily activities severely compound these effects, resulting in spinal disc disease and damage.

Many people find their low back pain lessens or disappears when lying down as this effectively “unloads” the gravitational weight from their spine, allowing natural spacing to return between the vertebrae. Unfortunately the pain relief you get when lying down stops the minute you need to get on with your day.

Studies have shown that drug treatment may help in the short term to eliminate or dull low back pain. However, there is little evidence that opioids work better than placebo over the long term. As well, there is evidence that about 24% of patients taking these drugs exhibit signs of abuse.13

Trekke Lumbar Lift offers a type and level of treatment results that have never before been achieved in a flexible, comfortable and mobile device. Other treatments are either immobilizing (require you to lay on a table) or inflexible (include rigid, uncomfortable metal rods or plastic forms that severely restrict movement).

Trekke is a truly ground-breaking treatment method that goes anywhere you go and is available whenever you need it.
